Top 5 Spots for Engagement Photos in Chicago

Hi friends!  One of the things that every client of mine always asks for is for location ideas for their photos.  I love giving suggestions and have decided to provide a little guide to my top 5 spots for engagement photos in Chicago.

Lincoln Park Boardwalk

With stunning views of the City, this spot is hands down the most requested location that I get.  What I love about this location is that it still feels like the city but it definitely has a nature vibe to it.  The famous “Honeycomb” structure is nearby and the beach is just a quick walk away.  Stroll along the many walkways and enjoy the view from the bridge.

Olive Park

The location of my very own engagement photos, I love Olive Park because of the gorgeous views of the city.  I love that this is an “off the beaten path” location where you can enjoy the city without a ton of other people.  This spot is exceptionally beautiful during sunrise and sunset.  It’s also close to Navy Pier (permit required to shoot) and the beach!

Downtown Chicago – Wrigley Building / Riverwalk

My first love in photography was architecture and I love that this location is the perfect backdrop to all my fellow architecture lovers!  This location screams Chicago with iconic views of the Chicago River, a view of Michigan Avenue and so many of Chicago’s historic buildings.  I particularly love starting near the beautiful Wrigley Building.  I just love its luminous white color and the beautiful detailing on its facade.  Your photos will have an instant classic look at this location.

When choosing this location, plan for early in the morning so that you can minimize the crowds of people around.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some spectacular views from one of Chicago’s rooftop spaces!  Whether it’s your own, a hotel or a bar, there’s something special about engagement photos with a view!  Location ideas: Ambassador Hotel, The Robey,  The London House.
