Hi! I'm Lisa. I'm a Chicago-based wedding photographer known for my classic and timeless style. I love blogging about my photography and my love of fashion!
Hey friends!
I’m pretty sure that 2020 is turning out to be a different kind of a year for everyone. My sweet couple, Emily and Eli, had visions of a large 200+ person downtown Chicago wedding for this spring. COVID turned those plans around. Being MARRIED was the most important thing to Emily and Eli, so they turned their day into an intimate and tech savvy Chicago Elopement Wedding. Even with social distancing rules and guests dialing in via Zoom this day couldn’t have been more special. I can’t wait to share the details.
Emily and Eli started their wedding day with a romantic first look in the courtyard of their Lakeview condo building. The midday sun created such a beautiful glow as Emily walked down the garden pathway to meet her groom. As they turned to see each other for the first time, they both were overtaken with joy and a few tears. Eli spun his bride around and looked in awe at Emily in her beautiful classic wedding gown.
We snapped a few photos in the courtyard, including my favorite “rose toss” photograph. Then we headed to the Anshe Emet Synagogue to get these two MARRIED!
All around the country (and even a few from around the world), dialed into Emily and Eli’s zoom wedding. Even though their guests were not physically there, seeing the couple hundred people dialing in to witness the vows was amazing.
As the ceremony started, what I loved hearing the most was how kind and loving Emily and Eli are. They both are leaders in their Synagogue and surround themselves with many friends who appreciate their support and loyalty. What I remember hearing most that afternoon is how Emily and Eli complement each other so perfectly.
Lastly, as the ceremony came to an end – the glass was broken, the couple shared their kiss and Eli’s cousins began to sing a beautiful song. Cue the first dance as Eli twirled his bride as they savored this first moment as husband and wife.
Emily and Eli, thank you so much for having me photograph you wedding day! It was such an honor getting to know you both and capturing your love story. I can’t wait to see what newlywed life brings you both! I wish you all happiness and joy in the many years ahead!
Hugs!
Lisa
