Hey friends! This week, I’ve been thinking all about a classic Chicago engagement session. I imagine a session on a sidewalk cafe in the Gold Coast or on the Chicago Art Museum’s steps. To fit this vibe, I’ve put together this classic engagement session outfit idea!
First, let’s start with the skirt. I’m pretty much obsessed with skirts with movement in photos. To explain, I’m talking about the movement it creates when you walk and when a bit of wind catches the fabric. Not to mention, this style is a very flattering style on many body types.
I paired this skirt with a halter style top. This style shows off your yoga toned shoulders. Tucked in the skirt, this combination looks so C L A S S I C. I’ve linked a couple of halter styles in the post for you to see.
Accessories
Of course, a pair of heels will complete this look. I always recommend heels with dresses or skirts for photos. Heels elongate the legs so yours will look amazing in photos. One note, if you are petite, I’d choose a heel style that doesn’t have an ankle strap. Since I’m on the petite side, too, I’ve learned that an ankle strap will cut the length of your leg, not elongate it.
I’ve picked a classic faux diamond stud (2 carats), a gold cuff, and a black purse for accessories. With this classic look, have fun with your accessories. Some hoops, a pair of drop earrings will all complement the style well.
Don’t forget to schedule professional hair and makeup for your engagement session. Trust me; you will love your photos that much more.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this classic engagement session outfit idea! Even though I created this for an engagement session, this outfit would look great going out to dinner, to a museum, a party, or throw a blazer on for work.
